2026 Conference
Fourth Global Conference on Caste, Business and Society will take place on November 23-25, 2026 at the University of Melbourne and Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.
We are now accepting submissions of abstracts for the 2026 conference.
Submissions of paper are invited on any aspect of caste in the work-place including topics such as:

Caste, Consumption and Marketing
Effect of caste on consumption and marketplace experiences, influence of caste on product/service design, role of caste in advertising, how caste shapes marketing strategies.
Caste as a Theoretical Lens
Principles underlying caste, use of caste to explain empirical phenomena, similarities and differences between caste, class, race, and so on.
Caste and Migration
Caste practices among migrants, transformation of caste, caste beyond South Asia.
Caste and Colonisation
Colonial and postcolonial governance of caste at work, the role of empire in shaping caste-based labour regimes, caste, race and colonial capitalism, decolonial approaches to…
Caste and Entrepreneurship
Access to finance, outcomes of entrepreneurial activities, homophily and entrepreneurial networks.
Caste and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Access to natural resources, decent work, burden of climate change, consumption, labour to achieve SDGs.
Caste and Global Production
Caste in global value chains; caste, migration and diaspora; caste, globalization and outsourcing.
Caste, AI and Emerging Technologies
Access to finance, outcomes of entrepreneurial activities, homophily and entrepreneurial networks
Submission Guidelines
This is only an indicative list of topics; we welcome submissions on any topics that lie at the intersection of caste and business and society.
Abstracts are due by 31st May 2026

Submission should consist of long abstracts up to 750 words in length, excluding title, author affiliations, tables, figures and references.

Use Times New Roman 12-point font for main text, keep it double spaced with 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins all around. References and tables/figures may be single-spaced.

Please name the file with the first name of the lead author followed by first four words of the paper title.

Please include the abstract/paper title and all author names and the email address of the corresponding author on page 1 of the abstract or paper (abstracts will NOT be reviewed anonymously so please include your name).

To participate in the conference, authors of accepted abstracts will be required to submit a full draft of up to 10,000 words, following the same style/format as the abstract. More details will be provided to the authors of accepted abstracts.
