Global Conference on Caste, Business and Society (CBS Conference) aims to be the leading conference for research on caste

Join the Journey to Shape the Future of Research on Caste
Caste shapes the socioeconomic lives of over a quarter of the world’s population, in South Asia and across its global diaspora. It structures access to work, dignity, and opportunity, systematically disadvantaging ndividuals who are at the bottom of the caste system (i.e., over 500 million middle castes, marginalized as “shudras”) or outside it (i.e., nearly 300 million Dalits, stigmatized as “untouchables” and over 100 million Indigenous peoples, alienated as “tribals”).
As an analytical lens, caste offers powerful insights into how systemic inequalities are produced and sustained within organizations and societies worldwide, and why addressing them matters.
In line with its vision, the CBS Conference creates an affordable, intimate, and safe space to share research, exchange feedback, and strengthen both scholarship and practice. Small-scale and multidisciplinary, it is designed to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
